My name is Nathan McIlwraith, and I founded TourBC.ca Ecotourism with a vision to create opportunities for people to connect deeply with the land, themselves, and each other in a way that no other company offers.

Our Story

My journey to this work wasn’t a straight path; it was a homecoming. While I was introduced to the Creator and our ‘Truth’ early on, the deep roots of my heritage truly took hold in my late teens when I was adopted by the great Lenny Poucette. Immersed in the rich traditions and stories of my ancestors, his teachings fundamentally altered the trajectory of my life. He instilled in me an unshakable reverence for community, sustainability, and the land.

TourBC.ca Ecotourism is the manifestation of those teachings. Over the years, I’ve honed my operational expertise in risk prevention through traditional teachings, knowledge, inclusion, and economic development—but my core driver remains singular: to share the profound wisdom of Indigenous ways of life. We are here to change lives for the better by guiding and helping others to connect with nature. Building a sustainable ecosystem that blends culture and adventure isn’t just a business objective for me; “This is my spiritual obligation.”
